Meet Pablo
Pablo Iván McConnie-Saad's early life is one that many Philadelphians will recognize: one of four boys, he grew up in a family that struggled to make ends meet. His parents, who had come to Philadelphia from Puerto Rico, frequently renting row home to row home in South Philadelphia and the entire family of six often slept in the same room. Despite these challenges, they built a strong family, contributed to their community, and held onto a singular aspiration: to receive a high quality education so that they could one day build a better life.
As Puerto Ricans, Pablo's family faced discrimination. Pablo still remembers watching police raid their Philadelphia home – holding his father at gunpoint and tearing their home apart after being profiled for their Latino heritage and falsely accused of being drug dealers. Years later, this same hatred against immigrants echoes in Trump's words and has been weaponized by ICE to terrorize our community. Despite this, Pablo's parents refused to let fear define them and taught him and his brothers to take pride in their heritage, their family, and their city, encouraging the boys to speak Spanish with one another.

Through determination and sacrifice, they built a stable life in Bella Vista. After graduating college, Pablo went on to work at the Delaware State House of Representatives Democratic Caucus, working for a number of committees, helping to improve the lives of working families. He then earned a doctorate in Public Policy, and was recruited to join the Biden Institute. Following his success there, the Biden administration's Treasury Department brought on Pablo to help implement key parts of the Inflation Reduction Act, reducing costs for all Americans.
For too long, Washington has been disconnected from the everyday struggles of working families. Pablo is running for Congress to bring a new voice to Washington—one that truly represents the people of our district. This campaign is about fighting for healthcare as a human right, creating good-paying jobs, investing in our schools, and building a more just and equitable society. It's about ensuring that everyone has a fair shot at the American Dream.
Pablo is running for Congress to create good jobs and a better economy for all; where your tax dollars serve your community here in Philly and don't fund foreign wars; so that your work feels meaningful and your dollar has value. Pablo is fighting to fix the affordability crisis:
- Pablo will fight for affordable housing
- Pablo will fight for affordable groceries
- Pablo will fight for affordable healthcare
- Pablo will fight for affordable child care
- Pablo will fight for affordable education
- Pablo will fight for affordable energy
We can't fix our broken politics by electing the same career politicians over and over who haven't delivered on their promises.
We need a new generation of elected leaders who have the spine to take on Trump and the establishment, invest in our future, and fight for hard-working Philadelphians. Pablo believes in restoring a Democracy of the people, for the people, and by the people — not just the wealthy few and powerful lobbyists. He will say no to the self-dealing and special interests that have corrupted our government. He will work tirelessly to ban members of Congress from trading stocks, and fight every attempt to cut healthcare and the social safety net. Congress isn't a casino; it's a place to serve the American people. Join Pablo and help him fix a broken system so that it finally starts working for all Philadelphians.

Today, Pablo lives in Bella Vista with his wife, Madeline, a physician and SEIU member at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. They are excited to welcome their first child in 2026.
